Bouncy castle fun, car races and a climbing course for the little ones, and a Galão or Vinho Verde for the parents

Since 2018, our children have been invited from time to time to children’s birthday parties in Hellopark at Monsanto. You can find it at the entrance of the much older but still very popular children’s playground Parque Recreativo del Alto de la Serafina, which has been located above Benfica on the green slopes of the Monsanto mountain since 1992.

“Parabéns a você,
nesta data querida,
muita felicidade,
muitos anos de vida…”,

it resounds from over the meadow.
A shining child’s face
four candles in front of him
and surrounded by the enthusiastic family
and his best friends.

While there is an entrance fee for Hellopark, Parque da Serafina is free of charge. But even in the latter, many nice children’s birthday parties take place on summer weekends. However, for us, the park was always a little too crowded for such events.

Among shady meadows, Parque da Serafina has various playgrounds for different age groups, a small labyrinth, a kind of Native American village, a large covered picnic area at the top with a view of Lisbon and a traffic area where your children can race around with bicycles, scooters or tricycles they have brought with them. There is also a large picnic area, although on weekends it is fully occupied early in the morning.

If you are then drawn to the pretty Cafe Greenhouse at Hellopark, you can drop your children off at the latter and watch them driving pedal cars, climbing and balancing, or jumping around for hours in the bouncy castle.

Those who still have some time afterwards can still visit the wonderful garden of the Palácio dos Marqueses de Fronteira, which is fantastically enchanted and will also give little children great joy. It is accessible in 10 minutes by foot (very close by) but in parts only over a moderately frequented country road. You should beware of the aggressive black swan, which knows how to defend its fairy-tale castle courageously to this day.
